SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — The Lehigh Valley’s population is booming, and so is the need for ambulance service. Tuesday night, the public got its first look at a new regional EMS center that hopes to keep response times low and save money.
The facility at Broadway and Parkway in South Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., won’t just be a new home for ambulance crews; the county coroner’s office is also moving there.
It will cost almost $10 million to build, but organizers insist it will save money — and lives — in the long run.
