MURRAY, UTAH — Intermountain Medical Center staff and EMS crews from across the Salt Lake Valley are being recognized for saving the lives of heart patients within 90 minutes or less three years in a row.
“With me it took 28 minutes to do the whole procedure,” said Walter Silva who recently suffered a heart attack. For Silva and every other heart attack patient every minute that passes could be the difference between life and death, which is why staff at IMC and emergency crews across the valley work so hard at getting patients to balloon saving therapy within 90 minutes.
“We are here to celebrate and recognize three years of 100 percent accomplishment of 90 minutes or less with our patients and that’s not only for those who arrive at this hospital but for those who are transferred here,” said IMC Administrator David Grauer.
