Elderly woman dies waiting outside busy British hospital

The family blames cutbacks for her death after she waited in one of 11 ambulances lined up outside the hospital because there no free beds

WALES, England — The family of a grandmother who died while said to be waiting in a queue of 11 ambulances, blame “cutbacks” for her death.

Sonia Powell, who was in her 70s, was said to have waited “at least an hour” outside Morriston Hospital, Swansea, after a suspected heart attack.

Hospital officials said it was “busy” but she waited for 36 minutes.
