YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. — An off-duty paramedic jumped into action when she witnessed a driver crash into a transformer and recognized that he was in cardiac arrest.

News12 reported that Christiana Corrado was at a 7-Eleven when she saw the car crash at a nearby CVS.

“I see a car speeding down Route 202,” Corrado said. “It completely takes out the transformer. When the car passed my passenger side, both windows were down, and I could clearly see the gentleman behind the wheel was slumped over toward the passenger side.”

Corrado said she believed the man was in cardiac arrest, so she jumped into action and began treating him.

“I placed him onto the floor and began doing compressions while the other civilians were calling 911,” she said.

Empress EMS paramedic Tina Harbach arrived on the scene and said Corrado had revived the man.
