NEW YORK — An FDNY paramedic was arrested for allegedly molesting a patient in the back of an ambulance while she was being transported to the hospital.
NY Post reported that Karel Delgado was arrested after a female patient, who called 911 because she felt ill, said that he exposed himself and fondled her after asking if he could examine her.
The woman reported the incident once they arrived at the hospital, and Delgado was charged with a criminal sex act, sex abuse and forcible touching.
NBC New York reported that the 10-year FDNY veteran won the 2015 prehospital save awards, and his mother, Nancy Delgado, said he would “never, ever do that.”
“He called me this morning and said, ‘Relax, everything will be OK. I would never do anything like that,’” she said.
