NEW YORK — A former EMT testified that an accused cop killer was in a joking mood while being treated after allegedly shooting an NYPD officer.

NY Daily News reported that Daniel Casey responded to a police station in 2015 to assess Demetrius Blackwell after he allegedly opened fire on Officer Brian Moore, who was responding to calls about a man throwing cinderblocks through a window.

Casey said when he asked Blackwell to name the U.S. president, he joked about it.

“He said something to the effect of Santa Claus,” Casey testified. “I said, ‘Stop the b----ing. If you don’t want to go to the hospital, you don’t have to go.’”

Casey said it also appeared Blackwell was bluffing when he displayed symptoms of a seizure while being questioned.

“There was concern about a seizure,” Casey said. “He didn’t appear to have a seizure.”

If convicted, Blackwell faces life in prison with no chance of parole.
