ESSEX, England — An ambulance was involved in a crash while responding to an emergency call.

Paramedics were on their way to another road accident in Little Clacton when they collided with a blue Renault Laguna in Frating at 1.15pm on Friday.

No-one was injured in the crash outside Crabtree Farm, but the female driver of the Renault was treated for shock and taken to Colchester General Hospital as a precaution.

The ambulance was not seriously damaged and was taken to the ambulance station in Frinton for a maintenance check.

An ambulance spokesperson said the service would comply with any police investigation.

Another paramedic crew was sent to the original smash between a black Nissan 200 Coupe and a black Mitsubishi Warrior on the A133 by the Brook Street roundabout.

One man in his early 20s suffered head injuries and was taken to Colchester General Hospital, but was not seriously hurt.
