HOUSTON — A collision between a parked ambulance and a speeding vehicle resulted in the death of a Texas driver, police said Thursday.
The 21-year-old driver, whose name was not released, died after being taken to a hospital, according to KWTX.
The out-of-control vehicle struck an ambulance parked on the street during a medical call; a paramedic who was inside the ambulance suffered minor injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Two more paramedics were standing nearby, about to load a patient into the waiting ambulance, according to ABC13. They saw the car coming, and jumped out of the way.
Another ambulance was dispatched to the original medical call.
