BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — An ambulance and SUV collided Tuesday in Bridgeport, propelling the SUV into a home.

Six people were taken to area hospitals following the crash, which was reported at the intersection of Wayne and Merit streets before noon.

Witness Con O’Hallora said the vehicles collided and the SUV then broke a wall and slammed into a home.

O’Hallora said he heard screams coming from the SUV after the crash.

“The man with her was pushed on top of her and resting on baby’s leg. The baby was screaming in pain,” he said.

O’Hallora said a man in the passenger seat was bleeding heavily from his head.

“He had a very bad gash on his head and he was covered in blood,” O’Hallora said.

Officials said there were two EMTs in the ambulance, one of whom was driving and the other was tending to a patient in the back.

All six people in the SUV and ambulance were taken to an area hospital.
