FLAHERTY, Ky. — One person died and several others were injured in a collision between an ambulance and a car Thursday.
The ambulance tried to swerve out of the way of the oncoming car, which had ran a stop sign, but clipped the front side of the vehicle, according to WLKY.
The force of the crash caused the paramedic and EMT inside of the ambulance to be ejected from the vehicle.
The motorist that was clipped by the ambulance died at the scene.
The victim’s 10-month-old son was also in the car but was properly restrained and suffered minor injuries and is expected to fully recover.
Another vehicle was also involved in the incident, but the driver suffered only minor injuries.
The paramedic and EMT are still in the hospital undergoing surgery for a possible crushed pelvis and another for a “significant back injury.”
