SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — State Police say they arrested a 61-year-old upstate New York man after he threw a crowbar through the window of an ambulance because he thought the vehicle was damaging his organic garden.
Troopers say they were called late last Friday night to assist an emergency medical squad with a combative patient in the Saratoga County village of Schuylerville.
Police say Robert Dougal had shattered the rear window of an ambulance by throwing a crowbar through it. Troopers say he was upset because he felt the ambulance driver had intentionally driven over his organic garden and was polluting his property with diesel fumes. Police say Dougal was incensed that the ambulance crew wasn’t taking the matter seriously.
