VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A man is in the hospital after stealing an ambulance and crashing it, according to police.
WTKR reported that the unidentified man allegedly stole the ambulance from a hospital while an EMS crew brought a patient inside. They discovered it was missing when they went back outside and called the police.
Police later found the ambulance overturned on the road with the man inside and had to extricate him from the wreckage.
The man was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation.
