PLYMOUTH, Mass. — An ambulance was involved in a three-vehicle crash that left five people injured Monday.
The Brewster Ambulance Service unit was responding to an emergency call and was hit it on the rear-passenger side when it passed through an intersection, reported Plymouth Wicked Local. The ambulance then flipped onto its side and crashed into another vehicle.
The driver of the ambulance was cited for failing to stop at a red light. All emergency vehicles are required to make a complete stop at traffic lights before continuing through.
There was not a patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash. Two paramedics were transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Three other people in the other two vehicles were treated and released at a hospital as well.
