PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — Four people were injured after a wrong-way driver collided with an ambulance in Ohio over the weekend.
Police say the Buckeye Ambulance was transporting a patient at around 11 p.m. on U.S. 23 in Pickaway County when a car traveling southbound in the northbound lanes hit the rig head-on, according to The Scioto Post.
The driver of the car, Tyler Hiles, 36, and all three people in the ambulance were injured and transported to Berger Hospital. Police said the crewmember driving the ambulance was Mathew Freeland, 34.
Photos taken after the crash show significant damage to the front ends of both the rig and car.
Police said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
