TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Three people were injured Friday morning after a vehicle struck a Claiborne County ambulance, WVLT reported.
Tazewell Police said the vehicle hit the ambulance as it traveled on High 25E, causing it to leave the roadway. The EMS providers were able to regain control of the rig and bring it to a stop after moving a short distance.
They were then rendering aid to the driver of the vehicle that struck the rig when another car hit the driver of the first car and the EMS providers. The second vehicle narrowly missed a police officer who was at the scene as well.
The EMS providers were transported to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The other vehicle’s driver was transported by Lifestar to a medical center.
