Bicyclist airlifted with minor injuries from Calif. state park

Contra Costa Times (California)

SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. — A bicyclist in a Sonoma County state park was airlifted to an ambulance and headed to a hospital with minor injuries this morning, a Sonoma County fire dispatcher said.

A call came in at 11:10 a.m. about a bicyclist down in Annadel State Park near Santa Rosa who was unable to walk, according to a dispatcher.

The bicyclist’s injuries were not serious, the dispatcher said. However, the ambulance could not easily access the location, so a helicopter was called to assist.

The bicyclist was near the Marsh and Canyon trails in the northern part of the park, where the helicopter flew the bicyclist to an ambulance. He was then driven to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, the dispatcher said.
