CHARLESTOWN, N.H. — A Sullivan County grand jury recently indicted a woman in connection with the motor vehicle accident that killed a Claremont paramedic last year.

Hailey Martineau, 20, was charged with negligent homicide and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, both felonies, a Feb. 21 news release by the Charlestown Police Department stated.

The charges stemmed from a Sept. 19, 2023, motor vehicle accident on Claremont Road in Charleston that killed Claremont resident Ian Pierce, 29, according to the release and Pierce’s obituary.

Pierce was a paramedic with the Claremont-based Golden Cross Ambulance Service, police told The Sentinel at the time.

The release added that the N.H. State Police crash analysis and reconstruction team and the Claremont Police Department assisted in the investigation.
