PATERSON, N.J. — A pregnant woman told first responders on scene that her baby's father shot her before later dying from her injuries.

Remy Lee, 31, was found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds between two parked cars and told responding EMS providers that the father of her child was responsible.

"It was my baby father," she said, an official close to the police department told nj.com

Lee, who was eight months pregnant, gave birth to a baby girl before dying from her injuries at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

According to officials, Lee's boyfriend, Donqua Thomas, 30, waited in his car for an hour in front of Lee's apartment. After she parked and exited her vehicle, Thomas fired multiple shots, then drove away.

Thomas turned himself into authorities on Saturday afternoon.
