PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A Pinellas Park police officer and two Sunstar paramedics were injured late Monday after a car hit their vehicles as they responded to a call on U.S. 19 N near 49th Street. The officer and emergency responders, and at least two others, were transported to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not known late Monday. According to witnesses, the officer and paramedics were responding to a vehicle pulled over to the side of a road when another vehicle approached and struck all three vehicles. The accident happened about 10 p.m. in an area of road undergoing construction. More than 15 emergency units were dispatched to the scene after the crash.
