Texas paramedic attacked on call

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A paramedic responding to an assault call suffered a minor concussion Monday after being “rushed” by a man who was angry first responders had to wait for police to enter the scene, according to a police report.

Paramedics arrived at Sierra Vista Apartments in the 6100 block of Whitby Road on the city’s Northwest Side shortly after 6 p.m. and, per policy, waited outside until police secured the scene.

As they waited, four people approached the crew and asked them to go to the location of the assault, but paramedics informed them they had to wait on police, the report said. Two people got angry and one of them pushed a paramedic, the report said.
