COVINGTON, La. — A St. Tammany Parish medic found strangled to death was killed in a murder-for-hire plot, and his wife and another man have been arrested, the sheriff said Monday.
Fire District No. 3 EMT Mario Scramuzza, 49, was found dead in his Covington home on Saturday after he didn’t show up at work.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said Scramuzza’s wife, 41-year-old Gina Scramuzza, of Covington, and 38-year-old Carlos Rodriguez, of Kenner, have been charged with first-degree murder.
