A STAR Flight EC-145 helicopter crew conducted a land-hoist rescue for a victim who fell down a cliff. Lake Travis Fire Rescue and Austin/Travis County EMS were also on scene and had made contact with the victim. The Crew Chief/Hoist Operator (standing on the skids of the helicopter) manages the hoist cable as the victim, in a Baumann Bag and accompanied by the Helicopter Rescue Specialist, is lifted to the helicopter. This was a difficult rescue with steep terrain and thick vegetation. The victim was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin.
