PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh EMS and the Office of Community Health & Safety announced on Tuesday the implementation of a community paramedicine program in Pittsburgh.

Office of Community Health & Safety Manager Laura Drogowski helped spearhead and design the program. OCH&S community social workers, in partnership with EMS personnel, provide a continuum of care, so that residents may receive sustained, durable, health support.

The program is expected to reduce vulnerable members of the public’s reliance on the 911 system.

Drogowski and EMS Community Paramedic Crew Chief John Mooney (pictured) will run the program.  City of Pittsburgh Community Social Worker Anmol Baxi (pictured) also is involved.
