HOUSTON — A lawsuit was filed against an ambulance service over failing to pay overtime.

Paramedic Feras Awwad filed a complaint on behalf of himself and several others Jan. 5 against Promed and Associated Inc. for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Awwad claims he regularly worked over 40 hours per week without receiving overtime pay between January and December 2016. Awwad said the agency failed to pay him the rate of time and one-half for his overtime hours, reported SE Texas Record.

The lawsuit seeks a trial by jury, all unpaid wages, liquidated damages and other expenses.
