BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — A fundraiser was launched to raise money for EMS providers and their families who lost everything in a wildfire.

According to the GoFundMe page launched by the California Ambulance Association, 25 employees of Butte County EMS lost all of their belongings in the Camp fire.

Over $12,000 has been raised for the EMS providers, and the GoFundMe page says the money will help the EMS providers and their families “start over.”

“Let’s help them out. Starting over is going to be difficult, but we can ease this struggle with a donation,” the page says. “If we can raise a few thousand dollars for each affected employee to assist them finding alternative living and transportation arrangements and funds to ‘start over’, it will give those folks a leg up and help them stay in the area and continue to be employed and care for their families.”
