MADISON COUNTY, Va. — A search for a missing 31-year-old firefighter-paramedic was suspended Sunday and will resume Monday morning.
WJLA.com reported that a 2009 Mini Cooper was found abandoned Saturday evening that belonged to firefighter-paramedic Nicole Mittendorff, with the Fairfax County Fire Department. The car was discovered at the Shenandoah National Park.
“At this stage of the search and investigation, there is no evidence to suggest anything suspicious in the nature of her disappearance,” a Virginia State Police representative said.
Mittendorff, who was described by police as a white woman, 5'6", 125 pounds, blonde hair, green eyes, was reported missing on Friday. She last had contact with her family on April 13.
The search was suspended due to the remote nature of the area and treacherous terrain. Mittendorff’s father said he last heard from his daughter via a text message. He said she may have gone on a trail in the park to train for an upcoming race.

Her sister said Mittendorff is dedicated to her job and when she didn’t show up to her Friday morning shift they became concerned.
A website and Facebook page were created by Mittendorff’s friends and family in an effort to locate her.
