MIAMI, Fla. — Police are investigating after an elderly woman was found dead in a canal behind her Miami Gardens home Saturday afternoon.
Mildred Townsend, 75, was found floating face-down in the canal at 51 NE 204th Street, according to Miami Gardens Police.
Officials discovered the woman after emergency medical services was called to treat her husband, an elderly man in hospice care, who was sick.
