KINGSLEY, Mich. — A firefighter-EMT discovered his own home was on fire while he was on duty.

WWMT reported that Buckley Fire Department firefighter-EMT Richard Crossman was responding to an EMS call when he was informed that his house was on fire.

“I was in the back of an ambulance doing an ambulance call and then all of the sudden my phone starts blowing up, and the paramedic came on board she said, ‘You hear what’s happening up on 4 road?’ Then I look at my phone because I am responding, and I’m like, ‘Hey that’s my address.’”

When Crossman arrived at the scene, his colleagues were battling the blaze that was engulfing his home.

Crossman and his family lost everything in the fire. A GoFundMe has been set up to help support them, click here to donate.
