NEW YORK — An FDNY EMT had over $2,000 worth of presents stolen when he was attacked by thieves Christmas Day.

EMT Steven Sampson, 41, was attacked by four suspects while he was pulled over at an intersection to organize Christmas gifts early Sunday, reported the New York Daily News.

Sampson, who has a black-belt in judo, said two of the suspects escaped with the presents while he fought off the other two. After the incident, he realized he had been slashed with a knife; he drove himself to the hospital, where he received nine stitches in his arm.

“You have to be real low to try to rob somebody on Christmas,” Sampson told the New York Post.
