Pilot killed in Colo. air medical crash identified
Patrick Mahany, 64, was a decorated Vietnam veteran and flew for Flight for Life for 27 years
FRISCO, Colo. — The Summit County Coroner has identified the Flight for Life helicopter pilot killed in a Friday afternoon crash as 64-year-old Patrick Mahany.
Mahany was a decorated U.S. Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam and had flown 27 years for Flight for Life.
Air Methods, the contractor that operates the helicopter, also reported the flight paramedic and flight nurse aboard the aircraft were injured. No patients were aboard.
