O-Two Medical Technologies Meets 2005 AHA & ERC Guideline Recommendations For Avoiding Excessive Ventilation During CPR

O-Two Medical Technologies, an innovator in resuscitation since 1971 has been quick to implement the new ventilation recommendations into the CAREvent® line of automatic resuscitators. The changes include lowering the tidal volume and breath frequency settings plus implementing a 20 second delayed cycling feature to allow time for 30 compressions during BLS CPR.

CAREvent®s are time/volume cycled devices - the only type of automatic ventilator recommended in the “Guidelines” for use during CPR (versus pressure cycled). Once set they deliver breath by breath consistency in delivered tidal volumes, frequencies and flow rates. This desirable ventilation is not achievable with a bag-valve-mask and allows CPR to be performed with fewer hands.
