New Medical Alert Wallets Assist Paramedics

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Many patients end up at the hospital when they could have been treated before going to the hospital if they had some sort of way to alert the paramedics or first responders. A breakthrough product in the medical emergency field may be able to reduce the number of people sent to a hospital - saving all those involved time, money and resources.

Medical Alert Wallets (TM) has come up with a solution that will help both patients and paramedics be prepared when a health emergency arises. Anyone with a medical condition, allergies, or regularly-taken medications can now carry a unique wallet with a recognizable “Medic Alert” symbol. The wallet not only identifies the patient, but also has a detailed list of the patient’s current health condition, prescription medicines they are taking, doctor contact information, and allergies.

All Medical Alert Wallets (TM) include a free Medical Information Card to list detailed medical information that will assist the emergency medical worker in diagnosis and treatment when a health emergency occurs.

“Medical Alert Wallets are a must for people in rehabilitation, physical therapy, assisted living, and for people of all ages. After rehabilitation and physical therapy, patients will still be taking medications, and it is safer to carry one of our wallets on them, in case of an emergency,” states Thomas English, founder of MedicalAlertWallets.com.

The “Medic Alert” symbol on the wallet is a common symbol that’s easily recognized by all emergency medical workers. When they see the symbol, they will know immediately that the person’s medical history, allergies, and medications are detailed inside the wallet.

“If the patient’s immediate health needs can be met by the paramedics, the wallet will help reveal this as well as how to treat the patient. Medical Alert Wallets equip the paramedics with what they need to save lives or to prevent further medical complications,” states English.

Many people are becoming aware of Medical Alert Wallets (TM) and are finding out how useful they can be for someone with a health condition. For example, one customer named Cindy asked for two Medical Information Cards. With her severe health problems, she wanted her husband to be able to carry a card about her condition as well. If an emergency situation arose, he would not need to recall her medical information from memory; it would already be on a Medical Information Card he carries. So Medical Alert Wallets (TM) sent them a few for each person, because medicines and medical conditions can change.

Cindy states, “When there have been true medical emergencies with me - which there have been many - [my husband] loses all sense of important information. Luckily, my daughter is usually with him to answer important questions, but in case she is not there, this would help him very much.”

Those with serious health conditions such as heart disease, asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, and so forth feel more secure knowing that the information is available to the emergency workers if they suddenly find themselves in a serious situation.

“Sometimes patients are unconscious or unable to speak when the paramedics arrive. Medical Alert Wallets are designed to speak for them. Those who do strenuous or dangerous labor daily, or those who exercise regularly should also carry the wallet as a precaution,” says English.
