SECAUCUS, N.J. — Due to overwhelming concern for the safety of attendees planning to travel to the 2nd Annual New Jersey EMS Task Force Emergency Preparedness Expo, the event has been postponed until early 2016.

The current weather pattern combined with the uncertain impact of Hurricane Joaquin could disrupt travel this weekend and into early next week. Already areas of New Jersey are experiencing some street flooding, making local travel challenging.

The Expo planning committee is currently in the process of scheduling a new date and will have additional information in the near future.

The NJ EMS Task Force was formed in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The organization consists of more than 200 volunteer and career EMS professionals, who respond to man-made and natural large-scale events using a variety of response units strategically placed throughout the state for maximum impact. The NJEMSTF has been integral in the response to the crash of US Airways Flight 1549, Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene, and Pope Francis’ visit to the U.S.
