AMR inks $1.2B, 5-year contract to serve FEMA

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — American Medical Response has been awarded a new $1.2 billion five-year contract to provide medical transport and support in response to national disasters and emergencies.

AMR is the country’s biggest provider of ground medical transportation and FEMA’s prime EMS provider.

The contract began on Sunday, and Global Medical Response announced it last week. GMR is AMR’s parent company.

The company said that in the last five years, AMR deployed 62 times to support FEMA.
