Colo. Awards Paramedic of the Year

American Medical Response paramedic James “JT” Orta was given the Emergency Medical Technician — Paramedic of the Year award from the Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado and the Emergency Medical and Trauma Services section of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Orta has worked as a paramedic in Colorado for 16 years, the past three in Colorado Springs, EMSA officials said.

He will be recognized Nov. 10 at the annual Colorado State EMS Conference in Keystone.
