ESO Solutions Announces Compliance With NEMSIS 3

Austin Texas - ESO Solutions, Inc., the leader in pre-hospital electronic medical record (EMR) software solutions, announced its compliance with the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) Version 3.0.

“Achieving NEMSIS 3 compliance underscores ESO’s commitment to making data more accessible and useful for EMS agencies and hospitals alike,” said Chris Dillie, president and CEO of ESO Solutions. “ESO users can accept data from any electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) software solution and share it with any hospital EMR in a seamless data exchange, giving clinicians a more complete picture of a patient’s medical history.”

NEMSIS 3 represents the state-of-the-art standard in data related to emergency medical services. Developed to enhance reporting between EMS and hospitals, NEMSIS 3 is aimed at improving data quality, enhancing ability to assess EMS performance, augmenting the flexibility of the standard for state adoption and aligning with Health Level 7 (HL7) standards. ESO achieves compliance with NEMSIS 3 at the Receive and Process Data level, the most stringent standard for compliance.

Pairing an ePCR system with ESO’s newest offering, Health Data Exchange (HDE), gives EMS agencies access to much-needed clinical outcome and billing data while providing hospitals with all pre-hospital data in any format they desire. “Any EMS or hospital system that connects to the HDE platform can instantly collaborate with any other agency, hospital, or other part of a healthcare network that uses ESO HDE,” Dillie said.

“Hospitals can now have access to the raw EMS data they need to report to registries such as trauma, STEMI, and stroke, as well as identify patient population trends and develop metrics from which care can be improved,” he added.
