WARE, Mass. — Most residents at Monday’s annual town meeting liked an idea proposed by the fire chief that caps payments for ambulance service at the amount the insurance company reimburses.
The measure, which was approved by a wide margin, requires those who voluntarily choose to participate in the program to pay a fee Fire Chief Thomas Coulombe estimated to cost between $40 and $50 each year. The exact number has not been determined and to take effect, selectmen must approve it.
The program would be “administered in accordance with guidelines as proposed by the Ware Fire Department, subject to review and amendment by the Board of Selectmen,” the article states.
