Girl, 10, gets wish to be a paramedic for the day
She has end stage renal disease, and Make-A-Wish Foundation and the community put together a day's worth of activities to support her dream
UNION, Mo. — In her downtime at home in Union, BilliJo Bowman doesn’t just lay around in sweat pants or jeans and T-shirts, like most 10-year-olds. She prefers a uniform — paramedic, flight suit or turn-out gear.
All three were gifts to BilliJo, a fourth-grader at Clark-Vitt Elementary, to remember the day two weeks ago that her wish came true.BilliJo, who has end stage renal disease as a result of being diagnosed with HSP or Henoch-Schönlein Purpura, was granted a wish Saturday, Oct. 25, from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
She asked to be a paramedic for the day, so her wish granter, David Bauer, put together a day’s worth of activities that brought the entire community together to support that dream.
