PARKLAND, Fla. — The Broward Health Foundation is looking to benefit individuals and families affected by the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

The nonprofit fundraising arm of Broward Health is launching a public version of its “Give from the Heart” campaign and reaching out to current contributors to the foundation and its community partners, according to a news release on Wednesday.

Money raised from the public will be combined with funds generated by an employee giving campaign, and all proceeds will help those affected by the Feb. 14 tragedy, the release said.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees, physicians and many others to help our community heal,” said Beverly Capasso, Broward Health president and CEO, who is a Parkland resident.

Fifteen shooting victims were brought to Broward Health North in Pompano Beach and Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, the two trauma facilities closest to the high school. Three patients remain hospitalized, the foundation said.

All contributions are tax-deductible. Donors can give by contacting the foundation at 954-712-3980 or visiting browardhealthfoundation.org and clicking on the “donate” tab.
