POLAND — The cinematographer for the new film “A Star is Born,” starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, was arrested after allegedly making drunken attacks on paramedics and police while in the country for the Camerimage Festival.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Matthew Libatique was released from custody over the pleas of prosecutors to keep him jailed until trial, which could take up to three months.
First responders were called to Libatique’s hotel after he was found in the lobby in an alleged inebriated state. When paramedics tried to approach him, he lashed out, with officials later reporting one of the paramedics broke a tooth during the incident.
He was arrested for assault and later taken to a hospital for treatment.
If convicted, Libatique could be facing up to three years in prison under Polish law.
