Police and EMS responded to reports of a man walking around with a knife stuck in his back

MACOMB, Ill. — A paramedic was attacked Saturday while attempting to treat a stabbing victim.

Officials said EMS and police responded to reports of a man walking around with a knife stuck in his back. The type of knife used was a pocket knife, reported the McDonough County Voice.

Brian McCue, 21, was highly intoxicated and uncooperative with first responders. After McCue was transported to the hospital, police said he became combative.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and released on a $500 cash bond.

Information regarding the paramedic’s condition was not available.
