ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Late Monday morning, a man arrested for disorderly conduct and assaulting a deputy turned himself in to Orange County deputies after several hours on the run.
Pedro Garcia’s ambulance ride to ORMC ended on Rio Grande Ave and Michigan Street in the Holden Heights neighborhood when the 28-year-old arrestee somehow managed to set himself free.
“He was strapped and apparently unresponsive. All of a sudden, he woke up startled and very combative. He fought one of the paramedics to the point he was able to get through the exit door,” said Cpl. Carlos Torres, Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
