By all accounts those who worked with Robert Von Schmidt say he was good EMT but he was also a registered sex offender.
If they knew that, he would never have been allowed to volunteer.
Christopher Clarkin takes comfort in knowing 38-year-old Robert Von Schmidt was never alone with a patient while a volunteer EMT with Mystic River Ambulance. He was always part of a team.
