Former ambulance service owner charged in child sexual assault

The owner will serve 18 months in prison after pleading guilty, and must register as a sex offender

FRIENDSHIP, Wis. — Christopher Quinnell, the former owner of Adams County Emergency Services, was sentenced to 18 months in state prison after being charged with attempted sexual assault on a child under 16.

According to Channel 3 News, Quinnell pleaded guilty to the sexual assault charge as part of a plea agreement to dismiss two other child sexual assault charges from 2014.

Quinnell was ordered to begin serving his sentence last week.

In May, Quinnell was directed to shut down Adams County Emergency Services following investigations by multiple authorities, including the DEA, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and local law enforcement agencies.

When ACES closed its doors this Spring, Adams County had to scramble calls to its 911 services and enlisted the help of nearby counties to provide emergency coverage.

In addition to his prison sentence, Quinnell will be subject to five and a half years of extended supervision. He will not be allowed to make unsupervised contact with minors, and must register as a sex offender.
