JACKSON, Wis. — Two ambulances attempting to reach a patient had to be rescued from the road after the rigs became stuck due to ice.

A Washington County Sherrif’s Office deputy was able to reach the patient and transport them to the hospital, according to a social post by the Jackson Fire Department.

“KEEP OFF THE ROADS!!!” the department warned on Facebook. “Both JFD ambulances tried to respond to a call and because of the horrible roads were not able to get to the call.”

JFD crews salted by hand to free one ambulance, and city salt trucks assisted with the second.

No damage was sustained to either rig.
