TULSA, Okla. — A woman who was fleeing from a hit and run, struck an ambulance while running a stop light.

Officials said the woman had sideswiped a black car but continued driving, before she crashed into the ambulance. The victim of the hit-and-run, Daniel Close, said he followed the woman to take down her license plate number and watched the crash with the ambulance unfold. He called 911, reported NewsOn6.

“We were getting ready to make a left-hand turn … and this lady in the white Toyota came over, sideswiped us, and then immediately jumped back over into the right-hand lane and started to run,” Close said. “As she pulled into the intersection on a red light … and she smacked the ambulance, and both vehicles were dead.”

At the time of the crash, the ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital; no one in the ambulance was injured.

The woman suffered slight injuries and was treated at the scene. Police released the woman to her father, but said she may be arrested later.
