BROWNWOOD, Texas — A fundraiser has been launched to help a paramedic who was injured in an ambulance crash.
Brownwood News reported that Life Guard Ambulance Service Assistant Operations Supervisor and paramedic Richard Sharp is currently recovering from arm surgery after a vehicle ran a stop sign and hit his ambulance, fracturing his humerus bone into three pieces.
Sharp is also awaiting tests for a possible shoulder and back injury and is experiencing numbness in his legs.
“This ordeal has been physically excruciating for him, and he has been told it could be up to a year before he can return to work as a paramedic,” Sharp’s sister, Amanda, said. “This fundraiser, and any donations made will help with living expenses (utilities, etc.), and travel expenses while he is recovering.”
You can make a donation to Sharp’s GoFundMe page here.
