MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A man was arrested after calling 911 five times over clam chowder that was thrown away.

Sacramento Bee reported that Sok Yi, 70, yelled and screamed at dispatchers about his soup on four different phone calls and said he had no other phone number to contact police.

Yi was given a misdemeanor summons by police because of the calls, so he called an hour later to complain about that.

Police said when they arrived at Yi’s home they found him intoxicated in his bed. He complained about the summons again and was arrested on suspicion of misusing 911 and interfering with police after refusing to cooperate with officers during the arrest.

Yi was released on a promise to appear in court.
