TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — A man was arrested after allegedly calling 911 to report that his wife was a “black widow spider.”

The Smoking Gun reported that William Rutger was charged with misuse of the 911 system after telling a dispatcher that he wanted his wife to be admitted for medical examination and that she is a “black widow spider.”

Officers responded to his home and said that Rutgers was slurring his words and appeared heavily intoxicated. Officer Jacob Miller reminded Rutgers that 911 is for emergencies only, and that he was not being arrested.

Shortly after, Rutger called 911 again to tell them his wife was a spider, and he was arrested.
