PUEBLO, Colo. — Someone drove a white Jaguar sedan through the front wall of a South Side home Tuesday night injuring one person and killing another, police said.
Pueblo police still were searching for the driver of the X-Type 2.5 vehicle with a McCloskey car dealer’s plate at press time Tuesday night, The motorist apparently managed to escape the wreck and flee the scene.
The call came in about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Sgt. Frank Ortega said witnesses told police the car was traveling east on Ivywood Lane toward the intersection with Hollywood Boulevard.
When the car approached the intersection, the driver tried to swerve around the traffic stopped there, then crossed over the yard of the home at 1922 Hollywood Blvd. and into the house.
The house appeared to be a tri-level home and the car was crashed into the lower floor of the building.
The car was completely inside the home and Ortega said a body was trapped underneath the vehicle.
Pueblo County Coroner James Kramer said the victim was a male, but no further information was available.
One woman was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
The home’s next-door neighbors said they heard a thump but didn’t see the accident.
Officers were searching around their house and their backyard for evidence.
